July 1st of each year is a special day for Canada. It is also a day that marks the return of H.K. to PRC.
On July 1st this year, CCA organized a regatta to celebrate both events. We had over 130 participants wearing red or white polo shirts and 6 boats participating. It was attended by our Patron, Mr. Anthony Burger, the Consul General of Canada in Hong Kong, Bruce Gillies and David McNamara, senior officials of the Consulate, and their respective spouses. Janet De Silva, President of the Canadian Chamber, gave her support and organized a junk and a junk-load of Canadians to join the event.
We also had 2 reporters from China Radio International to observe first hand how East meets West and work together toward a worthwhile project and a common goal.
